Consumer Reviews
Even though not a expert auto reupholster I've installed 4-5 sets of sheepskin seat covers on numerous cars more than the years. My wife and I like them, as they're warm in winter, cool in summer, etc.
Bought two of these sheepskin bucket seat covers off Amazon for my wife's Mazda five.
Shipping was rather prompt.
When I received them they seemed to be of reasonable quality for the cost.
When I unpacked them I located that they had been every in two pieces, each and every had a back and seat. In no way noticed this prior to.
In addition, there are NO installation directions included with the seat covers. Zip, Nada.
I went on line to try and see if "Elegant USA," the manufacturer, had a webpage with on-line instructions. No joy, no internet internet site.
Spent a half hour so so trying to figure out which way the seat back cover need to go on - attempted it each techniques, both unsatisfactory. Also located that the high top back was especially short, even for the smaller seats in the small Japanese car. The seat back did not appear to want to slide down adequate to get to the seat itself.
Also found that the initially cover had about a 1 1/two inch gap in the seam were the sheepskin was supposed to be sewed to the artificial material on the seat sides.
Had to sew that up myself.
I consider the seat cover with the hole in the seam was a returned item that was resold without repair. The box it came in was not new and shiny like the other one. In addition, the attachment straps on the two were totally different, and they were obviously of unique dye lots. The seat of one particular was much darker than the other.
Found that the seat covers had been not intended to accomadate the many seat adjustment levers on newer vehicles. (These are non-electric seats, but have levers for lumbar support, reclining, and so on.
In brief, I was unable to get a tight, neat fit.
Other folks I've bought in the past have gone on much easier and fit superior.
I am not sending them back due to the fact of the hassle, and they are marginally OK, but if I had been undertaking it once again I'd spend a little extra cash and get some skins that will match corretly.
I ordered the seat covers to go in my Fort Escape. I have leather seats devoid of heaters. The covers fit reasonably nicely, the installation - specifically attaching them beneath the seat was a bit challenging and needed moving the seat around very a bit, but was not impossible. The covers are warm! and do not leave lint on my perform clothes or wool coat. The covers met my expectations and I would suggest them.
